XLang is a web service orchestration language that was created by Microsoft. However, in August of 2002, Microsoft stated that XLang would be superceded by BPEL4WS.

XLang is the underlying orchestration language for Microsoft BizTalk. Although some orchestration engines continue to support XLang, the momentum has clearly shifted toward BPEL4WS.
