UDDI 2.0 is the successor to UDDI 1.0. It is the most commonly used version of UDDI and is part of the WS-Basic Profile. UDDI 3.0 is also available, but is still gaining acceptance.

Enhancements to Version 2.0 include a way for multiple entities in a UDDI directory to link themselves together. This is especially important for large organizations with many divisions or subsidiaries that will register themselves in a UDDI directory. Additionally, UDDI 2.0 adds a mechanism for checking the validity of statements about a company (industry type, etc.)
