A One-Way message exchange is the simplest pattern. It states that the sender will give a best-effort to move a message from a source location to the destination. No response to the operation is expected.

One-Way messages may or may not be guaranteed.
One-Way messages may or may not be reliable.

Most of the other Message Exchange Patterns are merely combinations of the one-way pattern.
